Cour des Loges: the rebirth of a Lyonnais gem by Radisson Collection
THE RENAISSANCE OF A LYON JEWEL SIGNED RADISSON COLLECTION In the heart of Old Lyon, in the shadow of renaissance facades and traboules with a thousand secrets, Cour des Loges, A Radisson Collection Hotel is much more than a hotel: it is an architect’s confidence, a work of art inhabited, a breath of history mixed with contemporary audacity. Under the direction of Yves Grardel and the expertise of Sandrine Nallet, Head Concierge Clefs d'Or, Cour des Loges is revealed as a place where every corner seems to breathe history, every detail evokes the memory of past centuries.
THE SOUL OF A TIMELESS PLACE
From the moment you step through the door, time seems to stand still, as if the place itself were holding its breath to better welcome its guests. Cour des Loges is not just an address—it is an invitation to contemplation, a haven where centuries intertwine with rare elegance. Born from a bold vision in the 1980s, the idea of uniting these four historic buildings into a single hotel once seemed nearly utopian. Yet, visionary Jean-Luc Mathias brought them together, infusing the space with a singular cohesion and extraordinary presence.
"THIS PLACE IS LEGENDARY FOR THE MANY WAYS ITS OWNERS HAVE WRITTEN ITS HISTORY OVER LAYERS OF CENTURIES. TODAY, WE ARE THE CUSTODIANS, THE GUARDIANS OF WHAT COMES NEXT."
Sandrine Nallet

The renovation overseen by Radisson Collection is a true feat, where every historic element has been meticulously preserved. From majestic vaults to wrought ironwork and horseshoe staircases—each detail is a note in a living score where the old converses with the new in perfect harmony. Here, the light is gentle, the stone seems to whisper secrets of the past, and every space reveals another page in a fascinating story.
A HISTORIC SETTING WITH A CONTEMPORARY SIGNATURE
Cour des Loges is an architectural journey from the 14th to the 17th century, elevating the property into a timeless masterpiece. Suspended galleries, glazed tiles, monumental fireplaces—these all bear witness to the grandeur of the past, yet nothing here feels frozen in time. The renovation highlights historical richness, turning raw textures into subtle nods to heritage. The dialogue between noble, historic materials and contemporary touches is delicately balanced. Modern interventions act as elegant counterpoints: clean-lined furniture, understated lighting, and refined materials that enhance rather than overshadow the space. This fusion of past and present, stone and softness, defines the Maison’s unique identity and deep coherence.
"WE MARRIED THE OLD WITH THE NEW, BRINGING A QUIET ELEGANCE WITHOUT EVER BETRAYING THE SOUL OF THE PLACE."
Yves Grardel
At a time when major hotel brands seek to blend into their surroundings, Radisson Collection places local character at the heart of its identity. “We don’t impose a uniform international style. Each Radisson Collection must reflect its territory,” says Yves Grardel, General Manager. Thus, this space naturally emerged as the perfect location for the brand’s first French address, joining a global portfolio of 38 remarkable properties.
With its traboules, inner courtyards, intimate bar, and hushed atmosphere, the Maison continues Lyon’s rich story. The luxury is discreet, the design contemporary—yet never abrupt.
ART, HERITAGE, AND GASTRONOMY: RADISSON COLLECTION’S PILLARS
A hallmark of Radisson Collection is gastronomic excellence, and in Lyon, this promise is realized at Les Loges. Under the leadership of chef Anthony Bonnet, who has remained loyal to the Maison for nearly twenty years, the cuisine is a tribute to the land—an ode to nature and local produce. Each dish is a work of art, a refined symphony of flavors that honors the region’s culinary traditions. The nine-course tasting menu, inspired by the chef’s own foraging, offers a true gastronomic journey—an immersion into the soul of Lyon.
While the signature restaurant remains the epicenter of the experience (and sits at the heart of the property), Cour des Loges also offers Le Comptoir, a modern bistro with a terrace, providing a more relaxed yet equally refined alternative. The bar, beloved by locals, offers a cozy and contemplative ambiance, where every detail is curated to craft an exceptional moment.
"THE ESTABLISHMENT HAS ALWAYS BEEN OPEN TO THE CITY—AND ALWAYS WILL BE. LOCALS EMBRACED THE PLACE FROM ITS OPENING IN 1987; IT IS PART OF LYON’S HERITAGE."
Y.G.
Cour des Loges is a place of encounters—a haven for discerning aesthetes, from locals to international travelers, artists to actors, all seeking what no standard hotel can offer: a soulful refuge. Far from the generic, each room is a unique alcove nestled between irregular walls, asymmetric windows, and timeworn beams. There's a sense of quiet sanctuary, a living silence. Neighbors coexist with this passage house, weaving a living, welcoming tapestry.
A HOUSE EMBODIED BY ITS PEOPLE
At the heart of this vibrant Maison is an impeccable service philosophy that captures Cour des Loges’ spirit. Sandrine Nallet, a bearer of the Clefs d’Or, exemplifies this commitment to memory, detail, and understated loyalty. From Lyon to Tokyo, a shared guestbook circulates to ensure every welcome feels personal. “A guest becomes the guest of all our houses,” she affirms. A network, a promise, an elegance that speaks not in words—but in experience.
Cour des Loges is not merely a hotel, but an experience designed to offer the exceptional. A sanctuary where luxury, history, and modernity converge in perfect harmony. This is a place deeply rooted in its territory—standing as a living monument. Here, luxury is not ostentatious—it’s in the silence of stone, the softness of fabrics, the nuance of detail. Cour des Loges embodies the very essence of refinement, where each stay becomes a suspended moment in time.
Carried by the vision of Radisson Collection, this Maison expresses a luxury that is both understated and confident, an eternal elegance where every moment is a celebration of artful living.
